June fishing is spectacular for lake trout, salmon and brook trout. August provides world class fly fishing for brook trout and pike and dry-fly fishing is still good, depending on the hatches.

Lodge & Fishing News: It is the first of June and the ice is just getting ready to go out within the next week or two. We are going in to open up The River Keep Lodge on June 15th. We will be getting ready for another great fishing season and installing new showers and toilets in the guest camps, building a new dock (the old one has served its purpose and we thank it for a job well done) and building a new stairway to the lodge.
We anticipate great fishing in 2009, hopefully the best ever! Prior to our acquiring the lodge, the bookings were very low. When we took over ownership of the lodge three years ago, we implemented a strict catch & release policy! This has added nearly a full pound to the average weight of our fish! We expect this year to show the full impact of our Catch & Release program and some big, healthy brook trout. Our guests list is growing steadily every year so this program is sure to provide excellent fishing for many years and generations to come.
