Riverkeep Lodge is located along the shoreline of the magnificent Atikonak River, nestled deep within the Labrador Interior. Accessible only by float plane, our remote location ensures a true wilderness experience in a pristine environment.
Both the Atikonik River and massive Atikonak Lake support very healthy populations of Landlocked salmon (ouananiche), Brook trout, Lake trout, Northern pike, and Whitefish. The quality of this wild fishery is enhanced and assured by our fly-fishing only, catch and release policy.
A river of contrast, the Atikonak boasts breath-taking gorges, boulder strewn pocket water, long glassy tail-outs, intimate secondary channels and miles of riffles. The geological diversity within the watershed affords anglers the luxury of fly fishing several different types of water throughout their stay. Anglers will often wade, cast from our 18 foot Lund boats or prowl granite ledges to cover pools best fished from shore.
